Our Library is lovingly curated by Canyon Rim librarian, Mrs. Simkin.
BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB – LIBRARY FUNDING
The ONLY source of funding for Canyon Rim’s library is through The Birthday Book Club.
Join the Birthday Book Club and honor your child’s birthday. In your child’s birthday month they will be able to select a brand new book that will have their name and the year dedicated on the inside cover! The librarian will celebrate your child by reading their chosen book to their class during library time. Additionally your child’s name will be displayed in the school office for the entire school year!
The Birthday Book Club is our library’s ONLY SOURCE OF FUNDING and expanding our selection of books!
Birthday Book Club Fee:
$18 – one child | $34 – two children | $49 – three children | $60 – four children
Please sign-up for the Birthday Book Club on the main Canyon Rim PTA Membership and Support form HERE.
LITTLE LIBRARIAN PROGRAM
The Little Librarian Program is for 5th and 6th graders and provides them the opportunity to help Mrs. Simkin and work in the library. Sign-ups go out to the classrooms and needs teacher approval. (pending current social distancing guidelines)
Each week the students will visit the library to check out books. The books need to be returned the following week. If the students return their book, they will be able to check out a new book. The students are responsible for any lost or damaged books.

SCHOLASTIC READING COUNTS
Reading Counts is a highly motivating reading activity. After reading a book, students take a computerized quiz that will assess how well they understand the book. When students pass a quiz, they are awarded points based on the number of correct answers and the length and difficulty of the book.
